when I referred to diameter , I meant the actual thickness as it sounds like your new bearings may be ever so slightly thicker, which could nip the crank. did you measure the thickness of old and new? I'm sure the inner/outer fit is fine. CD

Ah ok, I am with you now. I will figure out how to check that hopefully without disassembly.

Got around to working the cylinder today. Couple of before pics.

After scotch-brite, then some 300 emery where I saw a little transfer then scotch-brite again this is the result. I think I will quite while I am ahead. The last little marks don't catch my finger nail.

I am in the middle of restoring a 028 AV Super myself, but having a hard time "cleaning" the halves. @briantutt What did you use as solvent in the ultrasonic cleaner?
