Stihl 041AV Farmboss

i have an old 041 that is in fantastic condition and has great compression and so forth. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with a bar longer than 20 inches with this saw. If so, how long. Would anyone recommend a longer bar? Thanks

The 20 in. is a perfect match for the farm boss. I would not go larger. The 041 super would handle 24 plus in size.

It should handle at least a 24", but Sonny and others here have repeatedly expressed getting a lot better performance out of big saws using smaller bars. Unless you are tackling 36" logs or better, I'd have to agree with Sonny and recommend the 20". It will cut faster with less load on the saw.
