Stihl 044 Chainsaw Crankcase problem

Hi,

I have an old Stihl 044 chainsaw. The serial number is 130988955. The engine block (chain side) is damaged beyond repair, and the part number is 1128 020 2901.

I am looking for a new part for my chainsaw. Does the part number need to be exactly the same? Who can advise me on how to get my chainsaw back in working condition? All other parts are in good condition.

I'd buy a g444 clone and swap your OEM parts onto it's crankcase.
You can also buy aftermarket case halves.

It's better to replace case halves as a pair. I'd look for a good OEM case/crank. Replace seals, bearings if needed.
