Hi,

I have an old Stihl 044 chainsaw. The serial number is 130988955. The engine block (chain side) is damaged beyond repair, and the part number is 1128 020 2901.

I am looking for a new part for my chainsaw. Does the part number need to be exactly the same? Who can advise me on how to get my chainsaw back in working condition? All other parts are in good condition.

Thank you!

Shortblock- in the Stihl spare parts, I believe does not exist- Stihl do not offer one that I have ever seen, the likes of Farmertec cheap out copies however, do.
A "Short Block" would refer to an assembled crankcase with nothing else fitted- so two crankcase halves, gasket, crankshaft, bearings and oil seals- fully assembled and ready for you to bolt everything else to.
