Thanks to all the nice comments. I am really anxious to get this saw going. So this aftermarket kit from NWP at baileys.....has anyone any experience with NWP? Just for the record I am waiting to see if the jug can be salvaged. Not making any sudden decisions despite my anxiousness. I did take the handle bar off and hosed it with some metal etching chemical. Since this bar is practically impossible to find I was thinking of sand blasting galvanizing the sucker. Anyone here ever hot dip galvanize chainsaw parts here? I have had snow plows and plow parts done and they last forever.

nice score

It is confirmed, the cylinder is beyond repair  As much as I didn't want to, I just may have to go aftermarket. If anyone has a OEM cylinder/piston PLEASE PM me.

Update

BlSnelling gave me a link to a place that re plates cylinders. Cylinder Plating | Cylinder Honing | Cylinder Repair | Cylinder Re-Plating| US Chrome Inc Cylinder Repair Company Thank you Brad.
I contacted them and they are going to do it. I like the fact that I get to keep the original jug. I will still have to buy a piston/rings so I went to the Stihl dealer today for a quote. He told me he'd call me in 2 hours and never did :buttkick:

Other than that, I have cleaned it up a bit. I sanded down and primed the handle bar. Took a BBQ grill brush and some metal etch to the chain bar, and painted the bar with a light gray cold galvanizing paint. That's about it.

Well, I had the cylinder replated with NiSi at US Crome in Wi. Mastermind/Randy/Chimp w/gun found a used piston for me and a couple other needed parts. Randy also got to fire it up once it was put back together. I won't be able to do so as this saw is going to get sold on eBay. I decided that I don't "need" this saw and I do need the money for my family and bills. OF COURSE I AM SAD AND DISAPPOINTED that I will never get to run this beast but there are bigger things that will conquer my CAD. So long 090av  If you want to see a picture of it, go to the "Wuss on your bench" thread.
