I want to be clear I am not a TIG welder so it is impossible for me to tell another man what he can or cannot do. I believe it could be welded but that is just my belief and not based on anything but seeing what other folks have been able to do. I have not measured the cracks but I am hoping the additional pictures will give you a better reference.So about the chainsaw.... the case is cracked at the rear bar stud? It doesn't look to bad? Looks like the cracks are maybe 2-3mm long on each side? I was thinking I could tig weld the cracks, and stud hole, then drill and re tap it. Does this sound plausible?
Or is it more alone the lines of the case needing replacing?
