Sweeping the stove pipe

I injured myself a few days ago. Since I find that I am unable to push the brush up the pipe. I am wondering i
f anyone has hooked a drill to the rod and turned the brush up the chimney. I use the smaller rods, about 3/8 inch, as I need the flexibility. Wondering how much of a risk it is to turn the brush or will I wind up with a twisted off rod in the chimney?

I got a system years ago in Maine that attaches to the top of the chimney. There is a cable with a brush attached to it that you work from the basement to clean the chimney. http://www.swiftchimneycleaner.com/
