I thought this thread was about price. Is $20 still to high? What can you show us that is better?

Or are you picking at those not being Stihl chains? I get good performance and just as much use out of Oregon as I did when I ran Stihl chains.
Because buying full skip is like buying 2/3 the chain lol

Stihl chain is insane in price here as well. Been running county line or tri link chain due to price and can't complain over the performance of it.
Well, I decided to go ahead and grab another half dozen. It’s not like the price is ever going to go down.

That will probably serve me a lifetime, lol

We stocked up on rolls of chain and invested in the tools to make them .I saw the writing on the wall a year ago .We all have to do what we can to keep our overhead down /as low as you can now.I sure hope things get better some day!
How much did you pay and when?

Seen somethings just stop in the begins of the pandemic. Only had a reel and half left new so it was time go chain hunting. Did okay and picked up three more reels of 3/8 050 Oregon and two partials of 3/8 063 and 058, older stuff I have presets for, for those new odd bars nobody wanted say three or four years ago :). Chain went down for just a bit and those deals are gone forever unless you find buckets of used stuff. I see it from time to time but don't buy them myself anymore. Chain is good for trades if your on a tight budget. A guy in NY is moving or did move to FL and wasn't going to be running chainsaws much so he had a bucket offer a few months back of chain. No takers that day. I bought his one new loop of RS for 15. Dave the plumber. Bought my last reel of 404 Oregon from Radio some years back. Now I need some 3/8 lp or Picco for my small mount in 050 60dl
Trades

Deals are out there if your not too picky and have a grinder.
Buying things to fix them was a game changer so my parts box got stacked up with every brand or type of preset. So far ahead in that game they number in the hundreds.

People used to ask me for old chain when I had an outdoor power equipment shop and I was happy to give them rocked loops left behind. Betting many dealers will essentially if they make or sell loops.

Edit: Just remembered I have plenty of used 325 I might never use in loops from 60ish to 80ish dl
