That's the early mount type in combination with the later buffer. The rubber was smaller at first.

Thanks for the pics! Very nice! Since we're on the subject of mufflers..... Notice the "1109" part number stamped on the bottom!

Wow, that must be the strangest looking muffler with a Stihl part number on it hands down.Certainly the most uncommon one I've seen. What do you think it's for? gear drive with an attachment?

Very nice!.... i can't quite make out the date on these bulletins.

First bulletin is from 1967, second is from 64, I scanned them to save them, they fade more and more each year.

Thanks for posting this, very interesting !
This would indicate that sometime after April 1st 1967, all Contra cases would accept the 66mm cylinder ?

Very interesting that means the crankcase I have number 99141 is an early one as it 's cylinder recess is for the small cylinder of 58mm and not the 66mm as might be pre 65.

Explains why I was able to convert my contra, that was '69!
