Does anyone use the Stihl Elastostart pull handles on their saws? I'm going to replace the original one on my 028 but I've been finding (on E-bay) that the Elastostart models are 4mm. According to my Stihl 028 IPL the saws OEM cord is 3.5mm. Do they make a 3.5mm model? The info from Stihl is somewhat sketchy.

IMO it will be just fine.

Their are many Elastostart handles, my FS80 trimmer even came with one.
As did MS200/MS200T Stihl makes them in all sizes.

3.5mm X 960mm is what rope Stihl list for the 028

Stihl# 0000 190 3401 3.5mm X 960mm Elasto Start is what is used on
024,026,260,270 and lot of trimmers and other units.

But I like 1128 190 3400 Elasto Start, it has the same 3.5mm X 960mm rope
but the handle is the same as on the big saws and the Elasto part inside
the handle is so much better IMO, Handle is bigger though

This is the bigger 1128 190 3400 Elasto Start on 361

Thanks for the info. I do see now that Stihl makes 3.5mm cords so I will opt for one of those. I like Trigger's idea about the beefier handle. :D

I put one on my 026 PRO, just because I could. Chicks dig it.
