I have used the uni filter with the filter cover both on and off,yes it is a very tight fit,but if ya muck around it does go over the filter and gives that little bit more protection to the filter .While out cutting ad you find that one part of the filter is full of #### just take the filter off and turn it around and put it back on.

I have this oil filter in my 084. I can put the new filters in it, but not viceversa, because the filter box have a seal into. This filter is in oil bath, an for me, works well. The filter have the HD prefilter.
