Got a 260 the other day was told it was seized up. It was seized up it i got it unstuck was just curious if I should buy a new jug or if I can still use mine would like to stay with oem if possible I did run a home in the cylinder a little nothing catching thanks for your input this is on the exhaust port

NEVER HONE A CYLINDER! BUT---
You MUST break the glaze to get the rings to seat. A small spring loaded engine hone (and there is the problem, it could only remove any metal if you used it for an hour-maybe! t needs to be renamed for what it is a GLAZEBREAKER!)
Been doing this for many years. Remove the transfer as stated. Use something to break the glaze. If no gouges left when done, put a piston in it.
Don't forget to find the cause of the lean seize, or you will do it again. This would be a guaranteed vacuum and pressure test in my shop.

They’re great for what you said. In and out slowly and only for a few seconds. Most guys rattle them around trying to remove transfer or trying to crosshatch and end up removing all the plating from the port edges

Yeah was gonna do a full vac and pressure test on it bought it second hand with a seized engine so it getting new bearings seals and hoses just did a 441 new rings 150psi before start up tbink i only spent 30 seconds in the cylinder with a 3 stone hone feels real smooth now
