I was also wondering what a 361 was. It is probably a 360 with even more emission crap. thus the "1". There are all kinds of other Stihl saws out there. There is a seller from the UK on ebay now selling a wide variety of new saws. He is way overpriced but he has some odd saws such as a MS 340. I giess that would be an 034. He aslo had a MS 640. I was waiting to see of he came up with an 038 althought I believe I have a lead on some new 38 mags.

"I don't see what all the fuss is about. A 20 to 40 dollar increase seems modest to me. How long do you think it will be before Husky and all the others go up, it's bound to happen sooner or later."

If I recall correctly, the Husky prices went up last fall, when they ran their buy a more expensive saw and we'll send you 25' of chain in 6 months promotion.

Sorry netree I have to disagree on this, I'm going to rephrase your statement : Stihl as in "Stihl is worth the money "

I'm not going to start a Husky, Sthil or any other type saw debate or discussion on which one's are the best. We have been down that road one too many times.

All the major saw manufactures produce excellent saws. I'm just partial to Sthil and I don't mind paying the "extra" bucks for one. Our area was Homelite country till Sthil hit the scene in the 80's. They were pricey saws then and still are. I've had many Sthil saws over the years, I've used just about all of their top-handles to the large felling saws and just about everything in between. With a few exceptions I've never been disappointed in their products. They have always been reliable, productive tools for the trade.

I've only had experience with one Husky model the 335 XPT. It is a good saw no doubt, but I would never buy another one. I myself don't think it is as good a product as the MS 200. I'm not going to let this one Husky model, keep me from buying another Husky. I know they have excellent mid-range saws and would like to try some, maybe I'll change my mind, maybe not.

But until then " Sthil is worth the money " at least it is to this tree cutting arborist. :D
