Hello, I bought a beat up 034 with s/n 120012111. Could anyone find out when it was made (+/-)?
The workshoppist site is down, so I don't have a way to look number up anymore....
Thx in advance.
Doesn’t show on Stihl ssc- they purged the old numbers, but if it says made in “west Germany” were you pull rope , then it is made before 1990.

Hello
Need help with trimmer FS38
serial number 808486748
other number 4140122327

date of manufacture?

Greetings. I believe I have an older Stihl 066 Magnum, based on the top cover name plate, with a serial number 1126327141. Thanks in advance for letting me know what year it was made and that it is actually a 066 Magnum. I see lots of part numbers on parts that begin with 1122. Cheers... 8)

Unless I'm mistaken, the s/n should have 9 digits; the first one indicates the country of manufacture (1 = Germany), and is usually represented by an 'X' in the IPL.
You can find an IPL here, btw: https://www.arboristsite.com/threads/stihl-illustrated-parts-lists-ipl.317358/post-6461559 ).

The s/n you mentioned has 10 digits, are you sure it's correct? Or is it a part number, maybe? The s/n should be here:

For some models, the 'Magnum' label actually makes a difference, displacement wise, but not in the case of the 066:

There is no non-Magnum version, and the Magnum label is just a marketing term on this saw. There are other models, like the 038 Magnum, where the Magnum is a larger saw, but that’s not the case with the 066.

Thank you for helping me out with all the information you have provided. The IPL link was very needed.

So it looks like my 066 serial number is not 1126317141 but 126317141. I was guessing that vague mark at the beginning of the serial number was a 1 before the 1.

So with that cleared up, any guess as to what year this 066 was manufactured?
