How come you didnt stick with the makita?

Hey gary how come you did not stick with the makita? They are still available just like that one, and many more in the 54cc class. Brand new at $279 I think off the net. Made by Sachs-dolmar with the blue makita case added on. I bought the 520i and after tinkering with it a little, am really happy with it. The power to weight ratio on these saws is supposed to be the best there is, at least from what I read on here! I bought the smalleer one to play with and make sure I liked the brand before getting a bigger one. Cheap fun experimenting. I will get the 68 cc saw next spring as I have I am really happy with this one. again after tinkering. Just curious, JB

I still have the Makita 520i, and don't plan on getting rid of it - it's a right tough saw, and works well now that I'm used to it's idiosyncrasies. It's just too big for pruning in the orchard (though it's been getting a workout clearing an overgrown section of the orchard), so I went hunting for a smaller unit. Couldn't find any of the Makita line locally (bought the 520i at Lowes, but they don't carry them anymore), so I chose amongst the models I could find around here.

Now, if the weather will just clear long enough to let me go play!
