I am sure it has been discussed, but I am asking again.
I am looking at buying a used Super Split. The guy said it has a new Honda engine, new rack & pinion gear, new bearings & belts. He "upgraded" the table to make it more sturdy, and made the pusher part of the rack bigger (4"x4") He is going to send me pictures today so I can at least get an idea what it looks like. It is 3.5 hours away, and he will deliver it because he has to pick up a piece of equipment and go past here anyway.
Anyway....I have a very small stove & house and I burn through around 4-5 cords a year. I usually light the stove twice a day, so I go through a TON of kindling. Does anyone have an opinion on making small kindling with a SS? Most of my wood is 10"-12" long. I have this seasons wood already split & very dry, but I would like to make a seasons worth of kindling now so I don't have to deal with it once it gets cold.
I buy tri-axle loads of wood & cut them up the year ahead so they get nice & dry. I look forward to using the SS for the rounds also.
Thanks for any advise on the SS and the kindling aspect of it.
