Fill your hands, you SOB!
So here's the deal....I just sold this saw on eBay, and somehow it got damaged in shipping. Apparently where the rear handle meets the footpad got chunked out. This was the all metal tank design. So I will be refunding the buyer his money and receiving the saw back. This is a shame because this is a really sweet example of an 028. I could go a few ways with this, so I will...
-If you have a replacement tank you would be willing to trade/sell me we can work it out.
-If you happen to have the metal tank and you want a saw to mount it on I'm sure we could work out a trade, or what not.
-If you want to repair it.
I'm interested in offers, keep in mind I have yet to see the damage, but if it is only what is what was described it should be a simple fix.....Drop me a PM..
Here's the orginal eBay listing.....
For sale is a Stihl 028 WoodBoss. This saw is in overall good shape and does not have any major flaws such as crack or breaks. This sasw does, however have some small scuffs froms light usage. The decals on the cylinder cover and clutch cover are intact but are starting to lift. There is some paint missing from the underside of the saw as pictured. There is some carbon discoloring on the crankcase in the muffler area.

I have replaced a few wear parts on this saw, the new parts include:
-New Fuel Line
-New Ground Wire
-New Crankcase Impulse Line
-New Fuel Tank Vent Line
I have converted this saw over from the points ignition to electronic ignition using OEM Stihl parts. As a result this saw now has a reliable and maintenance free ignition system.
The crankshaft bearings are tight, with no play.
The AV buffers are solid and tight.
The drive sprocket shows some light wear.
This saw has the cast magnesium gas tank as opposed to the plastic one.
The chain has been hand sharpened and the rakers have been checked and set.
The chain is Stihl branded and has in excess of 75% of the life left in it. The 18" bar is also Stihl branded and has had the groove cleaned as well as the rails dressed.
The piston shows signs of very minimal use, the orginal machining on the piston can be clearly seen.
The carburetor may need some minor adjustment upon your receipt of the saw, as is common with environmental changes and small engines.
This saw has been disassembled and cleaned. You will not be receiving a filthy piece of equipment.
This saw is ready to be used and put to work.
