Fellow gave me this and I wonder if it is worth the trouble to fix. Looks like lots of 'stuff' is broke.

'Feels like good compression' but now the pull rope won't retract.

Many THANKS to you for the parts saw. The dirty looking 3900 is back up and running with the coil transplant.

In real need of a flywheel cover,I guess what its called? LOL For a old Stihl 040 part # 1110 086 0500 A good used one would be great ! Cash to trade, maybe some parts you would like? TIA !

If thats the same style as a 041 I have several and I'm just down the road from you.

Wow. That's one of the nicest surfaces I've ever seen a saw sitting on. Nice setup.

The story on that bench is.

That was a wooden bench in the front hallways of my high school I went to many moons ago. Being my dad worked for the school system when they were tearing down the old school to build new one. He picked me up the bench. :msp_thumbup: Could be the same bench me and my old flame sit on :msp_biggrin:

If you have a coil let me know ill take them from both of you.

Ill pm you. Honestly these mid 90's macs are really not bad. I worked the death out of the 3516 I have. Once you get past the plastic case and the made in mexico id say they are on the top of the homeowner saws list.

I agree. The first new saw I ever bought was one of those style Macs. I think it was 38cc with a 18" bar. :msp_rolleyes:
I cut 40"+ Oaks with it for years. It took awhile, but got the job done. The saw would not die. In 17ish years, all I did was replace the fuel lines/primer bulb.

I need some Mac Timber Bear, 610, 605 etc parts.

Carb
Coil
and the rubber grommet that seals the carb adjustment screws to the air box.

Ok this is going to be a huge long shot but i have to ask....

024/026 flywheel
1121 400 1207

Before you get to anxious notice the "7" on the end of the part number... Yeah it's the heated handles flywheel that is hollow on back for the generator.
