Thanks bud!!

Next time the neighbors party on a week night keeping the dogs up all night... they'll hear my new noise maker at 5 am when I get up! 288's are good for a hang over right?!
Hope you enjoy the new saw M.R. It's been a good saw and will be missed.. but big noise!
Looking for a clutch cover and piston rings for a poulan 245.
Thanks
I am needing a coil for an early 066.
BTW, can I swap another flywheel and coil from an 064? I know a poly f/w will not fit and the service bulletin says that coil should not be used. Happy to pay $$. Pics if it helps.
The 1311 was a direct replacement for the "Red Light" coil, so it's likely that you have the flywheel for the rev-limited coil. If you want to go with the regular coil, you'll need to swap out both the flywheel and coil. You can't swap in 064 components unless you swap out the entire starter assembly as well (The early 066 starter doesn't work with the 064 flywheel.)
You're like a genius and stuff.
And he has parts even he doesn't know hes got. But he does know way more than the average bear.
That's a double-edged sword for sure. The other day I was fishing around for a carburetor for one of my brother's saws (395) and didn't find one, so I ordered a good used one on ebay.
Then I was moving some boxes and found a box with three of them in it.
I'll liven them up too. I need a Remington 990 project saw, and a Wright C50 and C70 gear-drive. While I am at it, I'd like a fanwheel for my Echo 1001, a map to the lost ark and the real person who shot Kennedy....
3400=chrome piston
3800 thick rings ring=chrome piston
3800 thin rings=chrome cylinder
Bill
JJ has everything
Yeah. Too bad he's such a pain in the ass
I never find what i need until I don't need it anymore, either; sometimes, the only way to find a socket or screwdriver is to buy another.
So is that NiSi or chrome?:msp_biggrin:

OK, you are better than the service bulletin JJ.
Looks like what I have is a kind of frankensaw. There are definately red light components but not all. What flywheel should a red light have?
the 3400 i have is 47mm bore.thick 1.5mm piston rings and non plated piston.chrome cylinder.pictures later when i find my camera

I believe 1122 400 1209 is the Red Light 066 flywheel. Here's the rub on those though- some of the 1209 flywheels were made with one key way, and some were made with two. The two key way flywheels could be used with either ignition, the CDIC rev-limited ignition 1307, or the universal module. The one key way 1209 flywheels can only work with the Red Light coil.
The 1311 coil was a fix designed to replace failing Red Light modules but it is computer-controlled and can actually work with any 064 or 066 flywheel. Unfortunately, they have a high failure rate. I have three 1311 modules in my parts box and none of them produce one iota of spark. So you'll need to pull your flywheel and see what you have.
Dude, what you really need is an old junky Homelite XL with a stack. When that thing loads up on wood it rattles the world and they are cheap.
I woke everyone up at weekend GTG once at 6am with an XL-12! I was NOT the most popular fella that morning
