Looking for a Partner P100 part saw, or just the clutch cover w/brake handle. Will beg for manuals tommorow. Cash, many XL parts, too many Mac parts. Could use a fuel line for a Husky 32 also.

The only issue with these or any other outboard clutch Husky chainbrake is this: Improper maintenance. Folks take them apart, and can't figure out how to put them back together properly. It is possible to put them back together the wrong way, and they will still function but the handle is in the wrong position.

.....And of course there is the "too cool for chainbrakes" crowd that removes them.

I wonder if he did the same thing on the 55 he had, as it was locked in the on position, and couldn't get the chain to move. Is it really that difficult? you mean people will totally disassemble the handle, spring, lock, band, etc?

It seems like it would be a fairly simple fix, the saw ran great, and had great compression.

Anyone out there with help? ( help! don't make me resort to ebay... I sold some siding today, so I have a few extra pieces of green :) )

Swap a rebuilt HD-5 for a 044 carb please!!

I have a good HD-5 carb I have just put a rebuild kit in and tested.
I need a decent carb for an 044 saw desparately.

I was going to keep this but have decided to get rid of it if anyone is interested. I had it fired up about a year ago but never tried to cut anything.
I don't know anything about the history of the saw. It does seem to have good compression.
It is a Sears Roebuck D-44 Direct Drive and the model # is 917.351040

I have one of those I got for free. Mine wont stay running at all. I think someone either took out the reed valves or they broke. Don't know where to find another set.

What are you looking for?

Anything, as in parts or parts saws, that is newer Stihl or Husqvarna. I just got a new 660 project.:greenchainsaw:

I got a couple boxes of scored 290 and 55 pistons, and plenty of scrap cylinders.

Well you didn't say the parts have to be useable :greenchainsaw:

Folks take the handle off at the pivot (if they can figure out how to get the bushing out) and then don't get it put back down in there correctly. You can probably remove the pivot bushing on that 55 with the stuck brake, and unlatch the brake with needle nose vice-grips on the lever inside. That is, unless something is broken or melted.
And yes, folks will disassemble the brake and remove all of it except for the cover. I don't work on them if the brake has been removed.

Need a clutch cover for a Stihl 048. I don't care how it looks as long as it is not broken. I have lots of parts for lots of saws to trade.
