what'd you do that for? actually, am curious how that happened? would a cap from an oly work?

I need some plastic for my 440.

Scratch the quoted stuff.

I need the following for an 044 I just picked up.

1. Muffler - back half is fine. No rust, please. Prefer the one with the large single port, but will take whatever.
2. HD air filter base - my carb does NOT have the "snorkel" on top.

I got a few parts to trade and I got some $ as well.

Old brittle plastic and very cold air. Saw slid off the slippery snow covered log and must have caught the square edge of a bucked piece. Didn't notice it until I looked down to see my chaps full of bar oil. It's an odd diameter cap, about 7/8 or so. Tried small Stihl and Poulan caps but no go. The local Jred guy was no help either. Anything you guys can come up with would be greatly appreciated...

guess you didn't find the other piece(s). i'll measure the oly cap just to see if maybe. i'll measure outer thread and pitch.

Nope, good used 088 cranks are hard to find.

Cap from a Jred 590, Partner 500 and 5000 will also fit,probably more.

Nope, good used 088 cranks are hard to find.

Yeah im finding that out. A member has an 084 crank will this work in a MS880?

i think i'm going in a diff direction now..wouild rather have a starter for my 365..
all it needed was fuel and started right up,dont even need a carb kit !!
man this thing runs sweet..

the oil cap for the old oly is about 1.125" diameter (outside of threads) and a pitch of about 13 threads per inch. will that fit?

Thanks Charlie. I already have that one though. That one uses a rubber gasket that snaps into place where those 4 holes are.

Looking for one that doesn't use that gasket - the newer HD filters don't seat very well with it.
