Who's the go-to guy for Poulan NOS stuff? Got a 3400 that I need rings for and maybe some intake gaskets.

There are a couple but take your wallet when you go.
I believe the rings can still be ordered.
Not certain on the gaskets.
Have you tried ordertree.com and searspartsdirect?

I haven't tried either Mike, thanks for the links! I'm sad though, cause it sounds like I'll get a wallet raping. :(

Okay, I see Randy Duncan has some rings on evilbay. . . Anything I should know before I order anything from him? Is he good, bad, ugly? :wink2:

The rest of the stuff I can hen peck my way through.

His listings are a bit annoying sometimes (but I'm easily annoyed), and his prices aren't always the best. He does communicate well, ships FAST, and often has parts when nobody else does. I highly recomend dealing with him. Every dealing I've had with Randy D over the last few years been top notch.

Oh No!!!
Maybe I didn't express myself well.
Those two sites are VERY reasonable. Actually Poulan parts are among the cheapest anywhere for the good stuff.

There are a couple of the guys we Poulan junkies have to go to as a last resort for NOS stuff that are, shall we say, hard to deal with, although both have gotten better in the last couple of years.

Sorry if I gave you the impression that Poulan stuff was priced like that "big name saw company" nothing could be further from the truth on common items.

I agree, he's not giving anthing away any time soon but you get what your pay for with him and he takes care of business well.

Just dont bother trying to call on the phone, its a exercise in futility.

I noticed the prices weren't too bad once I started surfing the interwebs for them.

Randy wants less than $30 for the rings shipped. Now comes the fun part!

Swapping for the 3400 stuff I need!

Oh, and did they use an orange primer under the Poulan green on these?

+5 on this one, I try to get a bunch of things at once with him. He has no problem shipping them all together. Always gets here quick! Not the cheapest, but like others have said-you get what you pay for. I get my little bits from him, carb kits, duckbill valves, etc.

The annoying thing for me is looking at his picture instead of a pic of the part. He's not a handsome feller. :D

No, there shouldnt be any Orange primer under them. Do you have a repainted Dayton or such?

I dont have alot of the 3400 stuff but I might have a few things. ...

Yep. Since we started harping on him here for that, he's been using his mugshot less. The last part I bought from him had a pic of the part in the listing! He uses IPL shots often now. There was a friend of his here a while back. A few of us told him to pass on the "no more pics of you in fronta yer damn Dodge" message. Maybe he passed it on afterall....

If he was in front of some Scout or Travelall (you gets my drift) you would always deal with him and never complain...

Easy tiger. I don't have the animosity towards Dodge vehicles that you have for IHC iron. His prices are the main thing that compells me to shop elsewhere when possible. As for your hypothetical; I'd still complain. My message would've been "Cool Binder............now show some pics of the damn part you're selling!" however....:D

Hope this doesn't light my PM box on fire. But I got a Dolmar 143 project here that I keep putting off, I'll probably regret getting rid of it but, looking to trade for 372, 385/390, 395 project.

143 has alu transfer, a fair amount, doesn't look like it scored, hopefully it'll clean up, I do have a good piston for it, its complete but the chain brake system needs help, not sure what that needs.

Hmmm, after further examination, the handle assembly was orange, and someone repainted it green to match the PH. . . They repainted the whole saw, I see over-spray on a few things.

I need rings, adapter to jug gasket, a few air filters (I want a few on hand before they're really NLA), air filter gasket, and perhaps crank seals later, I have to pressure/vac test first though.

It's clear to me though, that someone has been into this saw at least once. Squish is .043" too, waaaay too tall. Comp read 105 psi, which would be around 115 psi sea level.

And I'm definitely going to mod the muffler with better ports, what a wacky design!!

and you are handsome????? sorry but i think he has you beat:D:D:ices_rofl::ices_rofl:
well sh**,, i better keep my comments to myself until i get me 372 back:bang::bang:

Any interest in either one of these?

This is an 056, Maybe a magnum which has compression, no spark. Missing a few bits, haven't really been through the thing other than spark and compression tests.

This is an 051, new GB pro top bar and .404 chain. Has spark and compression. Is a little hard to pull over, maybe bearings maybe recoil. This saw is by no means a runner and appears to have have some "home repairs" done to it.

Would consider trades for running chainsaws of any colors. Preferably 70cc and up.

Would also consider that dirty green stuff also.
