are these pos's worth posting or should i do more checking on them first.
cant check comp without starters.cant fire up.
pulling mufflers is a pita.
whats the best way to part with them ??

On these two saws i talked to the person i got them from and six others all missing pieces.
he said he found a lot of the taken off parts, for what saws i dont know.
so i will have to wait on putting these up for trades ..
we were supposed to meet up today but phone call went unanswered.
if i could get starters and such i could check them out better and be of more value to whoever wanted them.
when i get all the parts and checked out better i will repost.
I did get a lot of PM's :) but will have to start all over when i get the parts.,sorry.
I will be interested in husky stuff, bars, projects etc.

looking for a flywheel nut for a 041 farmboss. i check my local hard ware store and my local dealer. they can't seem to find any that will match up to the threads on my 041. So please if anyone has one i'll be willing to pay for it and shipping too.please let me know this is the only thing i need to get it going again.

Ron, i PMed you when you first got these, but if you get some missing parts, i may be interested in that 056 at the right price....

Lowes worked for me, it was a little thicker than original but it was same thread size and count. it was in the specialty bins....dont know if youve got lowes near you or not, TSC might have it too....it was a pretty standard size. I want to say 3/8 maybe.

yeah i checked lowes and TSC both yesturday i even took the saw in there to try to find a nut for it with no luck. and i went to day and tried my stihl and local hardware store for it too with no luck. so i don't know what to do. i had the nut when i got the saw and now i can't find the dang thing i don't know where that sucker is. but i'll keep trying and maybe i'll get lucky and find one.

Go look in the metric section, it's an M8 x 1. Common size.

Man! that looks familiar, looks just like the one on my old 041AV! thats weird!

LOL i bet you had to replace yours one time. do i need to put any lock tight on it to make sure it doesn't back it self off and mess up a lot of stuff?

i was popping the flywheel loose..and boogered up the threads. thankfully it was on the .50 cent nut, and not the crank...i didnt use any locktite as the flywheel is keyed and as long as you get it tight it should be perfectly fine because the key doesnt allow the flywheel to spin or move, and the not is just holding it tight onto the taper of the crank.

Any interest in this?

It's a runner

Chainbrake guts are there, but it don't work....Muffler has a little bit of "modification done to it"

The key is just there to index the flywheel for the timing. It's not there to hold anything. The taper on the crank holds the flywheel. But no, you shouldn't need locktite. I've never had one come off.
