I'd like to publicly acknoledge Treeslayer for the good work he did on the cleanup in Williamsburg, Va. after Isabel...
He put a huge crew together, paid everyone HUGE dollars and did a great service to the community without overpricing the work...
He was both generous and fair. Managing a huge operation like that is no small feat.... And of course there were a lot of others that put their energy into making it all work well.
And personally, I Am grateful for the time he took out of his busy schedule to show this beggar where the bread was....
THANKS DAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sur'nuff!

Dave took the big risk that paid off for all of us involved.

Contracts like that can involve sleeping out of trucks and eating out of cans. We all ate well, slept well and got paid very well.

The only risk the rest of us took was driving down there.

I hear he bought his wife a new car too :)

found this post doing a search, Wow.

I learned so much from all the good help I had, and bought so many new toys, it was so worth it.

To all the guys who came down, thanks. especially John Paul and Dan, you guys were real professionals.

Next hurricane, I'm gonna make a million $.:D

The tobacco give away is a small thing I do before cutting trees...
Its a prayer, thanking God and asking for continued blessing and protection... Its an honoring of the trees and Nature Spirits, thanking them for the many gifts they provide, and a humble asking for permission, that is asking for the trees to give away, which often will include the reason why we are cutting them. And an acknoledgement of my mortality, and death as the ultimate equalizer.... I was learned this from some Native American teachings....

The Menomonee beleive after a tree is around 100 years old, it has a spirit. How many perfectly healthy spirits did we send on their way that month.

I have a buddy here who offers tobacco before every removal, he keeps a snuff tin in his truck. He's real low key about it, I've never seen him do it. He told me whe I asked himif he took up dipping.
