Wow minus 10 Neil, that's a bit on the frosty side...

the puddles were frozen solid and the dam was iced maybe 10 feet round the outside, i have seen that dam frozen right over.
too cold to snow and bloody misserable, especialy if your gotta open gates or handle snig chains.

Were on top of the range here, good in the house now with the fire going and chimney full open.

Which part of NSW are you in?

gday all can someone tell me is a ms 390 a large spline thanks

Actually it's called a standard spline Darren.
All of your current larger saws are standard spline rims (or fitted with spur sprockets). Then you have small spline for your Husky 346XP's, MS261's etc etc (most saws around 50cc or under), and then of course Stihl in their demented wisdon have created a micro spline for saws such as the MS241. Just because they can and because they like to complicate things. They are indeed retarded sometimes with their thinking. A small spline would have sufficed but alas...
From a Stihl perspective everything above the MS290 is a standard sized rim as far as I'm aware if fitted with a rim setup.

Sheet, too bloody cold.

We haven't had winter yet, although looking at the forecast for next week it isn't going to climb into double digits either :(

Neil, how far off the main road are you ?

I'm heading north next Friday and may go the Walcha road if you and I have time instead of my usual way across from Armidale, Nymboida, Grafton and north.

034 Super

this is me latest saw, an 034 Super,
I got it off the local Stihl dealer, I found it in his shed at home, it was completly pulled down, a guy had got it off him from new, did about 18 months work with it and then it got a crack in the case behind the bar studs, so the guy just put it in his shed for 2 years
then he took it back in to Stihl dealer and traded it for a new saw, the dealer pulled it down and put it away in his shed at home and its been sitting there untill I found it a month ago, evey thing was in top order, P&C almost like new, so the dealer said he would rebuild it for me for and I could have it for $500, new crank case, bearings, seals and eveything had a good going over and one month later its mine,

Looks nice, I recently bought a 034 from a Echo dealer for $50, it needed a P/C, I turned it into a 036 for $100.
I gave it a quick muffler mod now it's a good runner

When I get a bar & chain for my husky 359 I'll be interested to see how it compares to the 034.

Good thing gmax, thats the only way the fix 034's if the P&C is stuffed, very hard to find the P&C for 034,
is the decomp hole the only mods to the top cover?
