Why do i bother

At this time of the year i like to spend most sunday arvos in the shed looking over the saws while listening to the footy.Generally cleaning them up and looking for any problems and also spend a lot of time sharpening,the usuall stuff,getting cutters even length,rakers to correct height and rounded to original shape etc,they all look like a new pin.
So this morning i head of to a job of cutting up four trees a guy had pushed over with a dozer a few years ago.nice and clean timber so no problem there...but it was a mixture of grey and yellow box,so you no how sharp the chains were after a few cuts dont you!! makes me wonder why i bother trying to get them perfect in the first place :msp_mad:
The problem is there isnt much else to pick from around here,i swear one day im gunna cut down a cyprus pine,cut it into six inch blocks for some therapy :hmm3grin2orange:
sorry guys just haven a winge,the cook dont listen to me.

Dave, I feel your pain mate, that's why I took up racing, I had a heap of saws sitting idle when I changed jobs and got invited to a race. Now most of the time I have good wood to cut and I get to see how well my chains stack up against everyone elses

hey andrew just had a look at his feed back and someone just nocked him on fake stihl chain bet he's gunna get a lot more

Compared to you and Neil Will and probably a lot of other guys,my sharpening skills are probably very average.The only race i could bet on winning is against most of the local farmers.Its looks to me the only time they get a new file is when they get a new saw :hmm3grin2orange:

The racing really is just a bunch of us that have found a good excuse to get together on the w/e and make some noise, all in good fun.

I've been having withdraw symptoms lately, a shed full of saws but bugger all wood to cut :frown: ,but on the way to the post office this morning I spotted a trailer load of wood near the footpath.
I gave the old oly a run :smile2:

I'm running pencil beam Hellas and the HID kits certainly spread the beam out. Before the HID kits they were a pretty tight beam. Much better now.

That's because it's difficult and sometimes impossible to get the new globes arc in the same place as the old globes filament.

Often the arc goes at 90° to the filament direction so the focus is miles out whack.
