In all seriousness Neil can you run us through some of the accidents that you have seen or heard about in the ring? I mean I did drop a log on Mark Jones' finger when I was at Bulahdelah but I suppose that doesn't count. Sh*t that would have hurt :(
Lucky you guys are yet to run one of my chains as you could end up a quadruple amputee in milliseconds if you don't have the required skill set. I mean I even square filed some Chinese .325" chisel today for the 241 and it actually scared me it was so fast...

did ya wet yerself?

er hem to those who know what are or should be the OZ catagorys of class for chain saw racing I'm guessin sub 30cc sub 60cc sub 90 and full blown but could you enlighten and rules of engagment etc

big ones, woppers and oh my god,,, o sorry you are asking about chain.

Basicly the chain which works best in each saw catagory, eg 3/8 full chisel in variouse brands is the standard cross cutting speed chain, it is easy to get going and will work well from U77cc classes through to open.
this chain can be filed with round or flat files, and the final result of the chain comes down to indervidual preference on what shape the competitor wants to cut in a certain event.

.325 in semi and full chisel is also popular in ripping and some speed and disc events.
I have not seen 404 of any discription since the 90's, stihl super chisel and oregon 80 were popular then but supercedded with 3/8.

I have read many times from our stateside posters, ''wood is wood''.
that may well be the case over there but here in oz wood is greatly different so the chains need to be filed different to get the best out of the saw and chain.

It takes years of constant practice to master this and most of us are still learning. Most of our leading sawyers don't say much, but they will show newcomers things if they ask at the right time.

thanks that info on chains but I was asking about saw size class in cc etc I found its pretty much up to 77cc then open class
Are there any annual competive events in Victoria ? I'm advocating a friendly comp next year with a tree industry group but want to know a bit more before I push the idea and not take away any others efforts that may be already in the pipe.

Yes guessing the learn't tricks are kept on the quiet

Latest model, also from my Chinese supplier.

For your info Dean Neil has actually already paid me the $400 NOT to supply you one of my Chinese race chains. Still haven't heard from Bob though. Bummed...
On a seperate note I saw some banjos hanging in Neil's shed when I was up at his mill. What scared the crap out of me though is that his mobile phone ringtone is the theme song from Deliverance. I actually didn't sleep for the 4 days I was there and just laid in the foetal position of a night sucking my thumb...

Sorry Neil but it's time for guys like us to have a shot who actually know what we are doing with a chain. You've simply been relying on talent for too long with substandard gear.

how are ya mate ??? what do ya think of the saw ???

Good pick up mate. The 026's are a great little saw. I picked one up myself late last week. Needs a new P&C (have a few on their way from my little Chinese mate) and has had the crap beaten out of it but it should be a handy little saw to play with.

nice, I see you got the fangle decomp switch on yours must come out with MS windows 95 or mid 90ies spec. My 026 me fav saw the old girls a 1989 so turned 23 years. Has worked hard & only now showin signs of gitin tired. Cost me $800 i did the sums a few years ago reckon she enr't me upwards $50.000 over 20 years before cost and cost would be less than $1000 aww maybe $200 more if yer take in fuel n oil.

well just got up from the shed rebuilt the 084 and a 066 anyone got a 044-440 046-460 for sale ??? i was looking around at work and could not fine a 3/8 rim for the 026 it sucks
