Neil's nickname is "The Enforcer" and for good reason. That's all I'll say :D

I was starting to get worried, no vids at all and no photos recognisably as moi actually cutting wood with a saw.
Anything I've ever posted could so easily have been poached from some nutter's photobucket account somewhere...... :(

Then I realised Uncle Neil and The Big Fella have seen me with a saw in my hands attempting to cut Spotty Gum :)

Saved !
Phew......

Although after what he said about poor Dave, Matt will just say I was never one of us anyway......

Dave, don't take it to heart cobber, all he means is that you aren't Matt..
As far as the rest of us are concerned, you're definitely on the team.
We need you to keep the Husky/Stihl balance, balanced. :D

The problem with that Rick is the Big Fella and myself may not be high enough up the pecking order to count. In other words, what we say even with photo / video evidence may not be deemed reliable to justify your achevement.

You were never really one of us anyway Dave. A video won't get you on the team sorry.

Ohhhhh, that was cruel. Poor Dave will need counciling after that bomb shell.

Congrats on the new saw. I've owned a couple of ported 660's built by Brad. As Rudy mentioned they are dead-set fuel guzzlers (even stock) but certainly weapons.
Bye bye to your 076 I'd reckon...

Oh and we need videos here too or you'll be banned.

creating a need that does not exist.

There are forum rules that are written in print and then there are far more serious forum rules that aren't written. Some of these are rumored to involve concrete boots and members disappearing.
One of these is that if you get a new saw you have to post videos. Even more seriously enforced if it's a ported saw.
Photos don't show porting or performance and you could have simply snuck into the local Stihl dealer to take a few happy snaps.
Videos pretty well prove it and they'll let you off the hook!

Neil's nickname is "The Enforcer" and for good reason. That's all I'll say :D

I can supply images of new saws "at work in the woods" $100 for a set of 6. 241,261,362,441,461 and 660

market a solution to a non existent need.

Remember back a primary school there was always a kid that was in trouble, ruled the roost and bossed other kids around, well we have a couple of them kids in here.:(

Damn.

This is getting like those sleeper terrorist cells.

No known chain of command.

Totally in the dark.

No contact with any other cell for total deniability....

Except we aren't jihadists,

and we aren't a cell......

betcha none of us even pray....

But I do have and wear a Shemagh during winter....

I wonder if the interwebs are really monitored for comments like this ?

hang on, I hear the door being knocked, err, blown in and some angry sounding men shouting about lying face down which is really hard as I'm on the can with the lappy in my lap......

Ohhhhh, that was cruel. Poor Dave will need counciling after that bomb shell.

Have Lifeline's number right here, that Matt needs a talking to.
I bet his Mum was repeatedly called to the headmasters office when he was little ;)

All good I am only stirring and I know the mods are out their I got warnings for obscene language god knows what I said lol

The mods are pretty good here (brown nose moment :D)
You can get away with more language wise than most US based boards.

I got in trouble on another board once for using 'hell' and 'damn'. :msp_ohmy:
If they saw what we printed in newspapers here and the language used on TV or witnessed how the girls dress in the warmer weather, particularly in coastal towns like Byron, they'd have coniptions

Mostly we're just trying to figure out if you're swearing in Aussie terms! :D

Some day, Australia/NZ will get scratched off my bucket list.

It does make it hard when we don't pronounce or 'R's'

Think of it like a Bostonian accent ;)

I was watching a doco once and they were interviewing some cray/lobster fishermen off the coast of Maine and I swear, they sounded Aussie/Kiwi with a US twang !

Oz is much like the US.

Except there's a lot less of us.

And nothing in the centre.

And a lot flatter.

Even our tallest 'mountain' is really only a hill.

And the trees are different.

And we drive on the opposite side of the road.

And we talk different.

And NZ is bloody pretty.

And most Kiwi's live in Oz.

And NZ has lots of sheep.

Which keeps those of them left there warm.

But we won't talk about that.......

Don't suck up to Dave now Rick. He gave me lip a few pages back.

I run my own Lifeline here Rick listening to people like yourself...

As far as the headmaster's office that was at High School. I was not a popular chappy amongst the teachers - except the tech studies teacher who owned an XU1.

Not sure what the hell you're carrying on about Dave. I have no pets but for some strange reason just ordered a bloody flea collar and a dozen donuts...

And in your own inimitable style and it is much appreciated, although I doubt if the real Lifeline people go around offering tablespoons of cement to those on the edge, but whatever it takes I say ;)

The tablespoon of cement theory is sound, however I haven't yet progressed to "Toughen up Princess"...

Quick 3120 Q.
(I'm putting an order together for bits)

Which filter ?

I'm guessing the oiled foam version from what Matt has said in the past, or is there a better way to jump, perhaps a modified something else ?
Or does the foam go over the flocked/felt filter ?

This one has the flocked filter without any top plate ATM, I've bodgied the top cover with some window foam just to seal the filter and get out of strife for the next week or so.

For what purpose Rick, if its just a firewood hack i'd be running the proper filter.
the foam one has its place as well.

Donaldson won't fit hey? That is rather unfortunate.

At the moment mostly firewood Neil although I did have other ideas when I grabbed it :monkey:

I just had in the back of my mind Matt saying something about Husky being really funny re warranty if you didn't run the oiled foam filter here, that the flocked one wasn't good enough for dry, dusty timber ? or did the oiled foam go over the flocked one ?

As I said above, this just has the flocked filter and no top cap, and the top cover doesn't seal onto the filter.

I'm putting together a parts list to get it back up to scratch, some gaskets are home made, the supplementary oiler isn't working, a bunch of other little things like fekked fuel cap O ring, etc.
It's done a lot of post ripping.

It's running well enough although I haven't even put the comp tester on it (if I can find it) but I'll probably add rings and a little end to the list.

If you can wait a little, i'd have some bits to tidy that old girl up a little.
I better recommend MCW for internals or else he will just pick on me again, he does that you know.

I need to come for a drive in the next little while, just have to get a couple of jobs out of the way here over the next week ;)

and yes, you can just imagine what sort of little kid the Mattster was at school just witnessing his bullying antics now.....
