Did someone mention big bore stihl's... Hook a brother up next time Neil if you don't mind cheers

That is possible Rudi, I try and be sure our boys get what they need as the 084 is so popular amongst the Stihl boys.
Here are the 3 that were delivered this week, they were actually sold weeks ago unseen after 1 call.

Their Champion CJ8'S thought you knew that.

I know a few things,

One thing is you need seriouse help.

Your alki thread is stopped by the moderators so you start off another thread along the same lines.

You prove what you are every day.

The mighty Nissan Patrol:

Neighbours knocked on the front door this morning, "Can you please help. We have the truck bogged down near the river. Are you able to pull us out?"
The truck is a 1.5 metre Toyota Tipper. Guessing total Tare weight - 3t.
"Yeah sure, I'll bring the nissan as it will pull more then the little tractor.(35 Fergy)"
So I grabbed a chain, headed for the Nissan, locked the hubs, drove around the paddock and backed up to the truck. Hooked up chain and said "i will continue pulling you backwards to the big tree so you can get on solid ground.See how you go, i may need to pull you back up the bank".
Extracted that little truck like pulling the plug from the sink. GO THE MIGHTY NISSAN. 1997 MODEL GU 2.8 Turbo. Last of the square shape. As much as i hate the fuel consumption. I don't think I can do without it.:clap:

Yep, the Patrol makes a good tractor Dean :D

Can't knock our GU, has 420,000km on the clock now and have barely put a spanner on it.

BTW, where's the tank vent on the 3120 ?
Either it or the fuel line bushing is leaking as there was a bit of fuel over the rear handle when sitting upright and it was coming from the top of the handle/tank somewhere.

That's not quite right Bob. You started a 3120 thread after your 090 thread was shut down . Your new 3120 thread was moved to the Joke and Funny Picture forum...where it belonged.

You then deleted the posts in that thread. It was a sense of humor test, moving that thread, and I'm afraid you failed. Failed miserably.

Yeah I have noticed the 084's are really popular in the racing arena. What would you say are the main benefits of the 084 over the 088/880's ? Without sharing to many secrets of course.

I think its a bit sad that stihl cut the 084 parts line (so I was told) and that's probably why good parts are getting so hard to find. Unless you're Neil of course :cool2:

If its a square shape, it's a GQ. GU were the curvy ones :msp_thumbup:

Got me a 4.5 petrol GU, want to talk about fuel consumption???

And if you get a GU stuck, getting it out is interesting (been there, done that.... Even towing a ton of wood behind in the rain, with a black soil uphill stretch..... That wouldnt have been a fun recovery :dizzy:

They are most popular because they are easy to get going, there are some 88's going also but by far more 084's. Another drawback with the 88 is that alloy muffler and wedge system for attaching it, I have been told recently the newest 880's have gone back to the 084 type muffler.
I have been beaten more than once by a 084,, more than twice also.

Parts are getting harder to find but they are around, i'm lucky as I know a lot of guys in this industry, saw shop owners and of coarse most of the race boys.

Without sharing to many secrets of course.
Ha hahah, I don't know much Rudi, my name is Neil not Bob.

My patrol is only pushing 300,000+ something km. The fuel pump has started leaking from somewhere in the front, my guess is where the timing belt drives the pump. Lets hope its only loose nuts and not seals.

3120 - the tank vent is in the top of the tank near where the fuel line comes through. If leaks when on its side could be either vent or fuel line grommet. Undo rear mount springs and loosen front mount to allow you to pull open a little to have a look. Not a hard job just can give you the sh-its with the fuel line and throttle cable when putting back together

I note Aussie1/Al sneaked in for a look last night. ;)

He'll be doing what I'm doing ATM, glued to the telly watching the MotoGP.
Moto2 just finished, waiting for the big boys to roll out :D

Does that work on Vampires as well ?
Or do I have to go organic and raid last seasons garlic crop hanging in the side room ?

Garlic is good but a 12 guage loaded with SG's comes in handy as well. Don't fall for that crap in the movies, the old shottie lays out vampires exceedingly well under 35 metres.

Don't worry Dave, you're still one of us and we'll still include you :D

No he's not. I'm talking to the mods to get this little upstart sh*tcanned...

Bugger.
Leaks generally=seal.

There's only one fixit in can that may, and I stress may work.
Redline make an excellent diesel injector cleaner/pump/injector lubricant called Redline RL2.

It's the only diesel additive on the Oz market I'd trust, use at the maintenance dose of several oz/tank or slightly above, not a full bottle/tank dose and see how it goes.
It can also act as a seal sweller/cleaner/softener.

Anything else is nasty and shows up on a used oil analysis as higher wear metal numbers, (they end up gong past the rings and are corrosive to bearings) the Redline is safe to use constantly if you can afford it.

If there's a Bursons nearby they stock it or can get it in, it's in their system.

Cheers, it only leaked after filling the tank to the brim and sitting upright.
