I had a mazda 323 as a run about back in the day. Bought it from a uni student and it served me well. Then my sister used it to feed horses for a while, off-road mostly and had a tough life. After that it was sold to some back backers and now has around 350+kms and still going. So yeah, I would have to say its a pretty good car. Yota corollas are good to, and camrys. Farm tested so that usually tells me a few things.

Also have a look at the big six's, they can be had for cheap now and Aussie cars are cheap to fix (usually). Family just bought a 2004 falcon in good shape with 140k for only $3k. Worked out cheaper than renting a car for a several weeks.

Also don't be to worried about high milers, most cars are built well these days. Our local sparky buys commodore wagons from his mate at the wreckers with 400k+ kms for $250-$500 and then drives them to 650k kms without to much trouble. Now thats pretty cheap driving right there.

Oh and with a name like Rudi I should be number 1 on here :hmm3grin2orange:

yeah just sold a company car here.. falcon EA on gas for 600 bucks.. had 430K on it needed about 1500 to get a roady for it. perfect for country driving.
