Actually now that I think of it. Got a Mate that has that turbo on his patrol. I think he is running a big front mount. I'll grill him over it.
As to Matt McInnes. Gone MIA. And not into this stuff any more. I do have an old number of his u can try. Failing that. Ring Andrew at trikfab. And failing that I could maybe come up with something from copying mine or butchering mine to make something to suit u.

What I have been reading and trying to sort out from the 'wheat from the chaff' is the Exedy, HD NPC etc are good for up to 700nm. Alot of people have fitted these to find out down the road after further refinements to their systems the clutch doesn't cope. 700 nm is a fair lump of torque, but they are tipping over this figure at an increasing rate apparently.

Ben at 4B fabrications has said the Exedy also! Argh!

Got this from my mate. Not sure if its helpful lol
Yeh Vince got the 18g and yep front mount.. Torque went through the roof, spools up heaps faster than the Garrett and holds boost all the way to redline... Best money iv spent in ages, haven't even tuned it!!! It will fly with a new pump!!! And iv got a 4 Terrain clutch, think there on par with exedy

Yeh seems to be!!! Iv been working it pretty hard, gave it a flogging in the snow in third heaps the other day and was lovin it!!

Yeh dunno, once I get a better pump she might struggle but seems fine at the moment!! Depends what he wants to do with it

Does that all help at all ?
Vince.

Funny old day.

Leave the keys behind to the hall I rent to teach in. Run around to find another key.
I set the timers on the a/c's and double checked them last night, but no worky this morning. (It's a little cold here this morning and its an old weatherboard hall.)
Get the UPS tracking info for Austria.
Go to a mate's dads funeral.
Get home to find the farrier there but the horse is missing and no where to be seen.
Find the horse in a neighbor's paddock. (Yea!)
Hit the road to Maitland to do a course, ring an order through for some parts, go to pay and realise my wallet is still in my jacket pocket from this morning's funeral.

And we're only up to lunch time.........

arrrr mate that's just a typical day for me with one of the drugs I have to take. trust me I have a real appreciation of what early onset Alzheimer's is like. :waaaht:

Who's Matt number 2? I don't know him (or refuse to admit he exists)...
your alter ego....................was a secret

i guess u tow heavy? or drive real hard? otherwise a exedy tuff clutch should hang on if yr not trying to do 3rd gear burnouts with a trailer on the back.:msp_w00t:

for pulling stumps

They picked up the parcel in Kentucky, someone at UPS had ticked the wrong box but Tom Wood built another driveshaft and had it shipped out today !

I emailed early this morning that another couple of days wait was OK to save them the effort but it had already happened.

Service above and beyond from Tom Wood's Custom Driveshafts. Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts - Tom Woods Custom Drive Shafts Custom Driveshafts Specialist
If you need a HD and particularly a double cardan drivesahft, they don't come any better.

UPS on the other hand.......

What are you putting the shaft in?

sweet looking drive shafts them,my tojo needs a new front one but a good 2nd hand unit will do her

A few tubes of Lucas Xtra HD grease should fix the problem :rolleyes2:

Okay maybe not permanently... but I had an old BJ40 that used to pretty much run on Lucas products... did wonders for the blow by and stuff.

The Deefer.

The front shaft is stuffed, uni's are cactus and it binds at full droop, it's a wonder it's lasted this long (and shows how little off roading I do :msp_unsure:)

How much lift and what shocks are you using? mines got nearly 3" and no sway bars shafts fine but a shock change is on the way

no one makes them here? i would be surprised if not.

Hardy Spicer do but much, much more exxy and not as big an operating angle as the TW one, and quite a few on the Landy board have tried various other driveway specialists here and had big problems, and usually when well away from home.
It seems the DC couplings mostly used can't take sustained speed. (the HS one is fine)
Remember a Landy is full time 4wd.

Not one issue to date with a TW shaft and a lot of the Landy boys have been using them for years.

TW had his own wide angle DC couplings cast and the centering bearing is fully serviceable/greasable in situ, a lot of DC couplings that supposedly are 'serviceable' only have the unis that are greasable or the coupling has to come apart to grease the centering bearing.

That's what I'm hearing!

Wait till your mate puts on like a 'Swarffie' (I think it's spelt)(Diesel Central) pump, injectors and a tune!

Modified 80 Series TLC dampers.
It has a genuine 10" stroke at the bump stops. (5" up, 5" down, including bump stop compression)

I can sneak a little more out of the front end yet with some bush modifications so hopefully going to a 12" stroke damper to get some more droop.

Just got home and there are four X-Eng belt savers in the mail, (all the Defender drivers know what torn belt loops and ripped trousers are.....) along with the new vacuum pump and valve stem seals that I ordered yesterday.
Karcraft were great re the pump, just said to send the old one back at my leisure, they aren't really fussed.

BTW, I did some barista training for four hours last night so I've leant how to grind, tamp and extract the perfect shot. :D

Of to town now, teaching tonight, won't be home till after 8:00.

What shock towers? I'm going to go the same way with 80 series shocks
