I like non fiction :)

Ah well, take my avatar for example. That is Paul Newman in the Movie, Sometimes a Great Notion. Overseas it was called Never Give an Inch. The second overseas release name is not correct though, as in the book, Henry Sr. scrawls on the wall with a yellow logging crayon, 'never give a inch.' Which is classic Kesey messing with your mind. He tripped ion LSD all the time, including in my ex's barn in southern Oregon (the barn is still there, the hippies and commune are long gone though).

Anyway, the film was shot not far north of my ex's property in southern Oregon. They built a complete deck around a hemlock about 10 feet up off the ground. Some logging pro they had on the set started the MAC saw and got the cut started, and then they handed it to Newman and he revved it up and did some cutting while they filmed it. Newman hated that movie for several reasons, and Kesey sued the producers over it after it was released. The book is a tough read, McBob would never get through it. Also has an unsavory adult plot.

And no comment on the Unimog delivery ?

Thought that is pretty cool !

Eh... Mogs are just trucks with a Mercedes Benz badge on them. Some of them are cool though, I used to off-road here with a Mog group.

I had a truckload of green Doug fir logs dropped off here last week. Craigslist has been a complete bust this year for firewood. Last year I had 4 cords of wood cut and split by now, all for free. This year I have gotten zip on CL. So I am forced to buy logs. Still way way way cheaper than electric heat, which is all I have here in the boonies.

Disagree a Mog is just an MB truck, diff locks front and rear, coils all round, discs all round, portal axles and mostly decent engineering in something that can carry several tonnes over indifferent terrain is ok by me. ;)

Nice unit for sure. What size branch can that chip?

chews about 7 inch of wood & works nicely off the PTO he's imported this and another with a hiab crane tell me in EU they use them a lot with tree company as handy dandy gear I'm not so convinced as very agricultural bit of gear hard to drive and much nut n bolts to work on but yes they do look hard core

oh yeah the chipper itself can rotate 180 work both street rear and road side very helpful in tight holes

Forgive me fellas, for I have sinned....

Badly :(

I bought a load of firewood.

Do I have to relinquish my membership of the Dribble Thread ?
Will you all still talk to me ?

At least it was delivered by Unimog !

Rick,,,, if you take the time to come over to my mill at Bulahdelah with the biggest trailer you can find you could load up with edgings and drag them home again and cut them up yourself, I have a huge pile neatly stacked already. No Unimog on my show but, sorry.

Sorry Neil. There is always a chance that the saw didn't start yet the ultra sharp, square filed race chain cut the ropes whilst stationary.

Well perhaps your right Matt, except this is bob your referring to. Now lets analyse this post further shall we.
1st- most likely the saw will not start- true.
2nd-Ultra sharp square filed race chain and bob- only in his dreams.
3rd- Cut the ropes whilst stationary- the saw would need to be lifted to a height to inflict such a possible feat.

If Myth Busters tried this Myth I feel it would most certainly be busted.

Ah Neil, you crack me up the biggest joke on the internet as I feel your closely related to Tarzan and always beating your chest you pocket sized hero in a tea cup

Luv and kisses McBob. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx oooooooooooooooooooo

I've just been lazy Neil and haven't organised a place to cut on yet.
The place I'm living in has a gas heater, bought a bottle last week but the heater didn't work ! (Buggered thermocouple, and the real estate/owner won't fix it) so a cubic metre of wood will suffice till I cut some.

If I can't get onto a place here you might get a phone call Neil !

Here they have a habitability law. Landlord cannot collect rent if the water heater, plumbing or the heater is out.

Propane here is spendy. The polar vortex here last winter wiped out all the reserves. Same with firewood; its all been cut and burned. People sold out and were gouging for it back east.
