Have cleaned files and file holders and chains in the sink before after leaving them out side and got rained on and sat them onto the fire place to dry. Alicia just walked in asked what I was doing and just said make sure u clean up after your self so I did. Can't wait will after the wedding to by a new dish washer so I can have the old one

The new old stock ones don't get used no. If I can't find a saw to use in the shed there's something wrong. Got the 200t out for a bit today, not the new one mind u

Lol nice, tried that splitter yet?

Dear Rudy.
I actually bought one of those splitters a number of years ago and not once have I tried to steal everybody's limelight.
Benny doesn't deserve any pats on the back or Congratulations Cards simply for doing what I did ages ago :)
He's young, he'll get a fat head.
Next thing he'll start a thread on it and claim that he's won a heap of wood splitting races against name brand splitters...

Yeh I ran it after I got it all together last night when I took that photo just to cycle the cylinder and give the motor a flush fired it up again this arvo ran it for a couple minutes and drained the oil, glad I did as it was a bit sparkly re filled her and ran near a full tank of fuel through it and didn't miss a beat. Going to get an hour meter to put on it and a proper spin on filter like the speeco/Oregon splitters have on them, don't really like the idea if the internal one although less things to get knocked I guess. Probably run a few more tanks and drop the 10w40 out the gave me and I'll chuck some sae30 in it, never been a fan of multi grade oils in stationary motors running and constant revs continuously. Even my Subaru pressure cleaner came with straight 30 and that's a OHC motor

It won't stay pretty for long. Wait till you get into some tough stuff. There will be sh*t flying off it everywhere. Bent fuel tanks, mudguard reflectors, dinged muffler, you name it :)
Always wear steel caps and face and eye protection. I had a 5+kg lump of twisty wood fly past my old man's head not long after I got mine. Same stuff that bent the baseplate.

Lol I remember that splitter yes, still going alright?

Good idea on the sae30, I was told the same thing for stationary engines. I had to buy some the other day and its getting harder to find these days. Ended up getting some at a depot in Adelaide, only in 20L thought the castrol stuff. But I'm sure you have a good contact for it somewhere.

Yeah going well. Had a few flat tyres, baseplate got fixed by a customer's engineer son. He also put a new jockey wheel on it while he was at it. It's a two way ram so he used it's own ram, plus a heap of oxy heat, to pull the bent baseplate straight again. He then welded a heap of bracing onto it. The new models like Benny's have been fixed so won't bend like mine did.
I also sharpened up the cutting edge of the wedge with my 9" grinder and that made a HUGE difference. It will now cut across the grain and honestly is every bit of 40 tonne. Haven't met any wood yet that it can't split.
Had a funny one recently. Went to start it for this winter and it locked solid. A little bit of water spat out the exhaust as I pulled it over milliseconds before it locked up. Turns out I must have put the black plastic sheet over it last time I used it while the muffler was still hot. It melted onto the muffler and acted like a funnel. Last lot of rain we had (well pretty well the ONLY rain we've had for a while) filled up the plastic and ran water into the exhaust. Pulled the plug, changed the oil, blew all the water out of the plug hole with a few pulls, and bingo started up fine.
I let it run for a while to get a heap of heat into it and bingo, bob's my dad.

I split a bit of stuff today that was a bit tuff. U can hear her load up and u know then to watch out. Going to rig up a lifter I recon using the ram to lift it abit like the Aussie chopper set up

If you can't lift it yourself then it's too big to throw on the splitter. Toughen up princess ;)

When you hear the thing load up and the wood doesn't let go stand well out the way and operate it from the tow hitch end. I have disturbingly lumpy shins to back my reasoning up. Don't park any cars near it either while you're splitting. Don't ask me how I know that either...

Both my main mower suppliers have it. It's more common for us then 10w30. I run 30 in my dads honda pump even though they say 10w. When the things sit there in the heat doing 3600rpm for a full tank of fuel usually it hard on them

I dragged dropped the picture in to Google images and this popped up as likely owner of that pile

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/barham/other-home-garden/redgum-firewood/1039224593

$176 AUD per ton plus what, 10% sales tax? That's $193.60 AUD. If they are metric tons, that is only 1.2 m3, or 1/3 of a cord. Which means $581 AUD per cord! Ouch... even at the current exchange rate of 0.93 AUD per USD, that is $540 USD a cord. Comparable heat wood here is madrone, the most expensive locally, and that is $300 USD a cord split, seasoned and delivered. No sales tax here in Oregon (yet). Maybe I should not complain about the price of wood here? Same as the price of new US saws...
