Huge dawgs are prone to get in the way of things, and can hurt you. They look cool, but they are lame when you don't use them for falling big timber, and some of the saws I see them mounted on couldn't pull their way out of a paper bag while dug and torqued in oldgrowth with long bars (440/460)

I'm going to raise the BS flag on ya for this one. I've been using a ported 044 and 460 with 28" and 32" b&c falling timber for a mill. The big dawgs are a must and these saws do much more than tear their self out of paper bags. I haven't gathered any pics but I will start a new thread just for them, be sure to check it out if you have any doubt. ;)

Recently changed mine on a 385 to the larger ones. Havn't used it yet with the larger ones, but I can tell you, the smaller ones were just above "useless"

Gregg,

OK, 056 has reached critical mass.

These dogs above appear to be produced by "dampfathammer" which i would associate wth Dolmar, that is just a non researched hunch though.

what gets me is the complete lack of functionality of those humongous felling spikes. they arent even pointed in the right ####in direction. . . & I really cant tell cause its a pic, but they look to be about wayyy to big.

If you had a hot 166 & you where in the biz of fallin OG trees, and the POS dogs where made right, then your dogs might could be cool.

& If im right & Dolmar did make thoes spikes, they just lost all the credibility that they had. .

. . .Dont take this personal

THAT CAT PIC IS GREAT btw!

:hmm3grin2orange: Dont take this personal either, Stihls suck and that 9000 would put a ass whoopin on your beloved stihl. The dogs are a little over kill
but they look cool! Hey there just like a stihl chainsaw they look cool but not very useful!

Who lost credibility?

From the pic, they're pointing in the right direction as far as I can tell.

Now I don't know anything about Dampfhammer, but it's spelled a little different from Dolmar
THat's like seeing a Stihl chainsaw with an Oregon bar and saying you have a "hunch" that Stihl is now making Oregon bars.

Gregg,

I am surprised they don't have those stock on all the 385/390's. They are very functional, but not too bulky.

In 5 foot plus timber with a 36" or bigger bar? I think not.

lol yeah i modded the scrench. i just cut the box end off a 19mm craftsmen wrench and welded it on the 13mm end of the scretch . it works pretty good. itl always stay with the 66 because of the 3/4 wrap

Dude the second & third spikes from the bottom are pointing towards the ground, that means they areent gonna do much more than scrape the wood, not *** it. . . . . . . . . . .

They're made for big wood  Set that bad boy on a huge log and see if it just scratches the wood.

I am jealous EVAN! The misses said no more chainsaws on the kitchen table!
