Good idea! I do have a few oldies that my Grandpa gave me with his old table saw.

I guess it could be a challenge to cut them out of hardened steel. What would you recommend to use as a cutting tool? I was going to use a jig saw with a metal blade but that may not go so well in hard steel.

If you got a dremel or other rotary tool, got to harbor freight and get a package of the diamond cut-off wheels for it. they're like 5 bucks a pack and work awesome. i've cut through hardened 1095 with em:cheers:

Thanks GNAR13 that is a good tip, I will have to try it with my dremel.

Doesn't everybody on AS have a rotary tool?

Also good to hear that others have been using saw blades.

If I get into the thousands of posts I will have to upgrade from my free dremel!

I've done my 3 saws with a dremel so far. I got the flex shaft attachment for it after the first one. It made it so much easier and it stays cooler. I want a foredom, along with a chain grinder and some other stuff. I will probably port the 5105 sometime in the near future too.

I just started 'porting' per se. I have polished the ports in my 064 jug with sandpaper wrapped around a bit. I also opened up the stock exhaust with the dremel.

So technically I guess that I have not aggressively ported with a Dremel. I would rather start slow and progressively move toward further mods as my 2 stroke wisdom improves!
