That's really cool. Any CT member want to broker the deal and ship it?

Would be nice to have in the living-room to remind the wife what is important in life, and that I don't have enough saws in good condition!

I could put it in my living room to remind me and everyone that I don't have a wife because no self-respecting wife would allow that!

That said, that thing is awesome, and I was all proud of the new saw stand I've been making for my living room to replace the one I have now that I've outgrown...but seeing this thing...well my stand pales now....

Jeff

You just can't "create" that aged patina...

o.k. : Who on AS does the carved figure represent? Looks like a a SAWTROLL to me :)

i take offense that you just indicated i might not be a self-respecting woman... currently, i'm trying figure out if i can arrange a road trip & get it myself!!!

i think you've been hanging around with the wrong kind of women...

(but perhaps self-respecting women don't hang out on AS???)

Hmmm... Looks like AS has found a perfect match! Trinity, why not extend your road trip and bring it out here to Jeff?

for one thing, i'm old enough to be his gramma... but Jeff does need to find a woman before he returns to Alaska... the ratio of men/women is not in his favor up there!!!

do we need to call you Yenta, Mr Matchmaker???

Good lord, no kidding. It can be a long winter up there...

No offense intended Trinity. I meant what I said about self-respecting women in the same joking way that one would say that no self respecting man would allow his wife's 300 piece Precious Moments colllection rack in their living room...though in reality a good man could let it slide. A good woman will allow chainsaws in the house.

Too bad there ain't any good women (my age) left. :bang:

geez, i wouldn't let Precious Moments in any part of my house! anyway, there are good women... perhaps you just aren't looking where they are... or the right woman simply isn't ready for you yet ;) ... patience... the impatient wind up spending time living in purgatory... then divorce court...

now, before this gets derailed, i still do LIKE that display stand...

You mean they aren't hanging out at the saw store, in the woods, steelhead streams, mountain sides and tree tops? I guess I'm in the wrong places! :bang:

But yes, I like that stand too. Lakside thinks it might look like Saw Troll, but it is the spittin' image of a gypo logger (not THE gypo logger) buddy of mine.

You're missing the boat! Why does she have to be your age? Rob the cradle, man! It's great! You get to train them your way (MY wife is actaully a good driver, because I taught her!), and when you find yourself pushing 50 and married to a 34 year old honey, well.... It ain't bad! :D

Just have the guy cut the top off, and ship it out. The post is not that amazing and a new one could be made in a matter of minutes. Then attach the top to it.

Guess you're not into antiques then! :) Sure you can make it, but you can't make it look that way without time taking its toll.
