Thanks to treemachine, I had to try this out. Not as refined as his, but I can always refine it later.

My reel pictured with my repaired big shot that works just fine:

Really like your throwline reel - rep'd you for it - think I'll try it. Good job on repairing your big shot.

I keep my tag lines on cable reels like that.

Here's a throwline reel - I made last spring - fits in a 5 gal. bucket on top the rope.

Actually, they're two frisbees - got 'em free, some give-away logo thing printed on it. Spacer is a section of left over pvc pipe. Gonna try few short sections of tube next time instead of a big diameter pipe - should be easier to make and work as good. It pays out the line really well.
