Ok guys,.. it's time for me to get a new 60-70cc saw,... I have been using a 365 Husqvarna for the past 20 years, and it has been an amazing reliable working saw, but it is starting to get tired, so I am planning to replace it but can't really make up my mind what I should replace it with. I have narrowed my choices down to a few good ones.....

..Jonsered cs 2066
..Jonsered cs 2172
..Husqvarna 562 xp
..Husqvarna 372 xp
..Stihl ms 362

I know the 2066 and the 562 are basically the same saw,... same goes for the 2172 and the 372,.. but was wondering if maybe there is some under laying pros or cons between them that some of you guys may know or have experienced.
To be honest I am a little skeptical of the newer self adjusting "computerized" saws, but I'm sure they are fine. I have had a little hands on with the 562xp and it was one great working saw.
I have very little to no experience with Stihl so some info, pros and cons compared to Husqvarna and Jonsered, would be great.
The older school style 2172 and 372 strike me to be more reliable than the computerized 2066, 562, 362,..... Am I wrong in thinking this way.. probably,.... so any advise or suggestions from your experience would be great.

Thanks

The 2066 is a great saw, solid and reliable but heavy for a 60cc saw. The 372xp is one of the greatest 70cc saws ever made, in time it will be recognized as a classic. The Stihl 362c-m is great for felling and cross cutting hardwoods, i can't fault in on a 20" bar. I can't offer an opinion on the rest of the saws you've listed as i've never cut with them.

I would stay with a standard carb saw. If you are used to a 365 a 372 is the same saw with a higher performing jug on it. If you are looking to get another 20 years out of the next saw i would stay away from the autotune saws. I know alot of guys have them and love them they just seem so much more delicate. Id bet the bottom end on a 372 would outlast a 562 in the same conditions and mix used. I much prefer to tune my 2 strokes myself.

2172 because jonsered is being rebadged as redmax lol.
I have 5 372s lol my favorite all around saw.
Light enough to carry and cut all day
And an excellent falling saw
Not a fan of the computer saws
I'm old lol
Great service out of the 590s too
Need to try a 620 next.
You could refresh you're 365 easily
Or up it to a 372 150.00 or so oem cylinder kit.

Put your hands on a 372 x torq AND the jonsered equivalent they have different top handle angles and you will either love the husky cause it feels familiar or love the Jonsered because it feels the way you always wish your 365 felt
Ignore the stihl, you have 20 years with a saw you love, the Stihl feels like a totally different animal and ten bucks says you will decide you hate how it feel before you ever start it
I have plenty of both but the 362 is the pig of the Stihl family and unless it was ported it is the modern pro saw i would be least likely to recommend to anyone.
No reason to check out Echo, again it wont feel like the Husky you love and they aren’t pro saws regardless of what the sales guy says

You were blessed to run a great saw for a long time, getting it rebuilt/refreshed/ported will put a smile on your face and in the meantime the new saw will make you happy as well

Dave you must not have run @James Miller 's Dellerized echo 590 at the PA GTG last fall. :wtf: as you can see by my sig i'm a STIHL guy but them saws rip for the price. i know James beats the snot out of his and it does run good. i agree on the 362 stihl pig.

I wasn't going to badmouth the 362
But glad you did lol

The Del saw sat there all day. The only person to run it other then me was MustangMike. Did pretty good in the cants to and I could have turned it up more.

Nothing wrong with an Echo
but to expect to go from a stock 365 special to any stock Echo and not feel disappointment isn’t realistic
James’ saw has a lot of non-stock in it that makes it better, but you can’t buy it that way at the store and until Echo does something about the fit/finish/feel of their products they will not compete in my opinion

Wow,.. Thanks everyone for the replies and advice.

Just a thought, but Echo makes a great 60cc saw. Excellent build quality.
No place that I know of around here sells Echo,.. so I have to admit that they never crossed my mind.

All of them and add the Echo.
Lol.. that would be great, but my budget won't allow it.

This is what I have been thinking when it comes to autotune vs standard carb.

.... and send your 365 to one of the guys who port saws. You'll still be around the same price as a new 70cc from the big 3, but you'll have 2 saws, and that 365 will be a ripper!
I have to admit that refreshing or porting my 365 was another option I was mulling over in my head,... I've had that old saw for so long I hate to just hang it on a spike in the barn and not use it any more,... it would be cheaper than a new saw for sure.

I had a couple Jonsereds before I bought my 365,.. I have to admit that I did like the straight handle and the Husky felt kinda odd, but I have gotten used to it over the years,... but I would have no problem going back to the Jonsered,... regardless of what I buy for a new saw, I think I will have my old 365 refreshed in some shape or form.
