I just acquired a popular 3400, looks like it’s got a score line on the interior cylinder wall intake side. Two questions, are parts available for these, and is there a chainbrake clutch cover that fits these? Not sure if I should build or scrap out on eBay and make someone else happy…if I can’t get a chainbrake for it, it’ll probably be scrappy.

That’s funny good catch. It was a popular saw poulan. I tore it down, come to find out secondhand cylinders are hard to come by for this and no AM. Also it does not have a chainbrake so I’m pretty much out. I guess saws ran for 30-40 years without brakes but I couldn’t see limbing with a saw that doesn’t have one.
