I am going to install a liner in my chimney this year and ordered everything for it. What I didn’t read into is their are special top plates for Tera cotta. I ordered a 13x13 top plate. Will this be ok it I set it on top of my Tera cotta liner and seal it to it with high temp call that comes with it?

For clarification the top plate I ordered it completely flat. So do I need the special Tera cotta top plate that goes over the edge and screws to it.

The flat will probably work, I used the one that goes over with screws in the side. Very well built and would be easy to remove if needed. I think it looks nice up there.

Thanks for the response I am going to try it with the flat top plate just because that’s what I ordered. If it won’t work out I’ll pick up the one made for the clay liner
