hi all. just doing an autumn clean and maintain on my chainsaws and the one I am having problems finishing is my oldest, my husq 455 rancher. I cannot get to 9000 revs (the recommended) without bogging. it's either 12-13000 or bogs. I use regular fuel with preservative rather than Aspen etc. I'm supposing I need to clean the carb??

Thanks

Can't be of much help to tach tuning, but if sounds like no matter how rich you try to make it, it's still too lean so either something wrong with fuel delivery to the carb, fuel pump not delivering enough fuel, plugged filter screen in the carb, fault with the high speed fuel circuit or an air leak somewhere. Does it idle with a consistent, steady rpm and respond to the idle adjustment screws? Do you know what "4-stroking" sounds like?
