Another NOT recommended item is this slim chain stuff unless you need it for small pruning. I haven't used up half of the cutters and it ain't cuttin right. Something got to hot when cutting bigger wood and I need to check out the bar for square cause she fights me going in.

I'd try taking the depth gages down some more. They look a little tall.

They do but they are lower than the cutter -.022" lower. Except at the nose which is more slanted. There the rakers seem high when the chain rolls around.
I use a Pferd file guide with the raker file included. It seems sharp, just acts like the bar needs ground.

Been through a few bars sure, then one day the kill switch wire broke and it caught afire.

She has a birthday coming up and I am getting her the same as I got her last year. Nothing, maybe a new bar and chain but I doubt it. I don't give them much but I expect a lot - probably has the original plug.

It may be hard to see:
The handle has been melted by fire cause by the arch kill switch wire. You can see the disformation in the black part of the handle left of the lower (orange lever)throttle lever.
I shut it of hot as hell after burning through a big collar cut and it caught fire in there where it arced. It must of filled with rich exhaust gas.

I'd take your rakers down to .025 to .030 and see how she cuts.

Mr. HE:cool:

that chain belongs on the 192t and the pole pruners only. 200t has too much power for that. no wonder your smoking bars you are using the wrong gauge chain at .043.PMMC3 you should be using .050 PMC3 . or change your bar to the right gauge

I am trying to recall why I tried it but not having any luck.

My guess is you thought you'd get faster cutting.

Been fiddeling with that idea myself, and try it on one of my 200t saws, but guess this is just an other reason not to. (Guess the main reason is I'm a lazy bum that just havn't set of the time (or remembered) to buy (propbably order) a 1,1 mm bar and chain at my shop).

So try to recal (please)las new, was there a difference in cutting speed?

There is a diference but the regular stuff is great anyway.

Little of topic but just wanted to say that I get all my gear and saws at penn holo as well. Really great guys to deal with.

When you say "she fights me going in" do you mean that you can't do bore cuts?

I had this same problem with a pico chain and bar. my thought was that as the cutters were filed the saw kerf got smaller and the rivets started hitting. I changed employers and never really explored that hypothesis but it felt the same way as you describe.

did anyone read my reply? the reason why is in there. wrong size chain for that bar

I got them together so if that is the problem...

It cut good when new. It acts like the bar in burred and the rails uneven. I haven't checked yet to see if this was the case . The rakers do look high but kinda act like they are low.
