I have an ms260, not a Pro. It has a broken (cracked) handle at the very back end. The dealer said $160 for the part and $40 for the labor to install. It's a good saw, but I'm wondering if I should put the $$ into a new ms261? What would you do?

I’d fix the 260. Not hard to swap the tank you could do it yourself.

I'd fix it myself with a used OEM handle off of ebay. $50-$60 bucks.

I have fixed...maybe...half a dozen cracked 026, 260, and such, rear handles. Some are easier to fix than others.

IF you have ABS Adhesive.... to to repair the crack or gas tank. Put in on heavy, get in in the crack, and leave it alone for a day or so. ABS is one of the few adhesives that will repair gas tank material. I have done this many many times..... But for cost of part above that looks like good option.
