Unexpected wildlife in trees!

That was a cool reverse rescue. I got to see a hawk snatch a squirrel off a fence post and fly off with it one time. Never made a sound at about 60ft away.
You must have used a pretty tall bucket truck?
Poplars like that are my favorite tree to climb :)

That's a good one...best I saw was a hawk landed on a limb nearby once with a 2 foot snake writhing in its talons.

Nix on the bucket truck...by bucket, I mean a 5 gallon bucket. I put a dowel perch inside the bucket about 2 inches above the bottom of the bucket and had a lid rope-hinged on. I double tied it and lifted little birdie-poo up to me once I got up...nest was probably at about 90-100 feet. It was a LONG way to the first limb. And, of course, a thunderstorm decided to start rolling in just as I reached the top. We got the baby back to bed before the storm hit. A few weeks later, she was flying and screeching all over the place.
