Have you ever cut through a rope?

Hell yeah, about once every 2 years :) Which is pretty economical.

I just use a cheap 3 strand for lowering and 2 x steel core flip lines.

The steel core flip lines I get them custom made. They start out about 20' long so if I cut it, no worries, just cut the end off and re-swage and stitch, I have had both for over 5 years now and there's still a bit of length left in them.

I take New England High Vee rope to this yatching rigging place, this ole timer removes the blue core and shoves in 1/4" stainless wire core ... any length you like! He will never show me how he does it or explain, he says it's his secret that makes him money. Apparently they do this on the big racing yachts where strength is required.

So, always 2 x attachment points and a cheap lowering rope ... safe as.

I agree them ???? seed pods/ bunches can be a real pain.. Heavy as hell. I did a year of palm climbing removal myself in south florida. That was more than enough- Nothing dirtier, more dangerous or harder on the body than ???? palm work.
Kudo's to those who make a living doing it!!!!!

And for all those who haven't worked on palms- your not missing anything. And yeah it's pretty much required to use a saw one handed.

I really loved that fact when i worked for my pops b/c he strictly ran shindaiwa rear handle saws. Thought they lasted longer b/c of the extra hp and they tended to clog w/ debris less, plus they were cheap.
