Hey rahtreelimbs

Thats what I did before the hook too, works good. Hey, here's a pic of how we fitted the hook to Timberbeasts new butterfly saddle ... it works good too, and he's hooked! :p

Re The Hook

I use a clip that was designed by Petzl for holding ice climbing gear (found it more useful at work than when i was in the hills). Not rated very high(not needed really) but is light, easy to clip and is always aligned right.

Cheers Mike

:Monkey: It looks like a simple way to carry a saw, however, I can see a saw falling out too. Have you ever had that happen? During a large trim job I could see that as a problem. For a tree removal, now I think it would be okay. I could not down load the video using windows.

I put a non locking carabiner in that position for my saw and use one of those lanyards with a welded ring.

For running up the saw, I like an eight on a bight on the wrap handle so I can hold the rope and clip the lanyard to my saddle before untieing it.

We do use that slipknot alot though, it's the easiest to teach the New Guy, until they can pick up the majik cow hitch

BTW, I do like these threads your starting, much better then rehashing the VT or back patting on our last job.
