I added a couple of saws to the display today. The SP60 came from Ted (Warped5), he had done a nice restoration a few years ago and decided it was time to move along. I had a nice one in the display already, but it has a brake. This one from Ted has the hand guard mounted to the tank.





I have a couple of fuel tanks in the attic that are drilled & tapped for the hand guard, and one hand guard to go with them but this saved me the effort of making up another saw.

There is a boss inside the tank, you can't really just drill and tap any old tank to mount the hand guard.





On the bench getting it ready.



It even has the correct mesh air filter to complement the warm air duct over the muffler.





I even have a few photos that Ted posted when he first finished up this saw.





Hard to believe that was 10 years ago.

I stopped to see Jay Hansen near Glide, OR on my way home from the PNW GTG and ogled over his collection and display.



He had a couple of Orlines in his shop and I mentioned that I did not have one in my display (yet), thanks Jay for your kind gift. I did not do anything to this one other than just wiping it off. Maybe I will try to make it run before the GTG next year.

I've never seen one actually running, not sure it is possible Bob...

I am making some progress on the chain display. Overall display area is roughly 46" x 46". With the chain laid out on a bench top I am thinking I may need to get started on another board.

I will have a row of steel pegs across the bottom for hanging some interesting loops (cutterless 3/8LP, 1/4" skip, .315 Pioneer, 3/8 Kolve, 3/8 & .404 carbide tipped rescue, scratcher, etc.)





This was January when I was just getting started on organizing the chain samples. About double that many now.

Some enabler posted links to an online auction this week and I had to take a look. Two days later I have more saws to get ready for the display...

Solo 70. They called it a 90, guess they had trouble reading the number.

This Mono was NOS but it has not been stored under ideal conditions.

This Mono branded Orline should clean up nicely.

I have another Remington Logmaster but it does not have the Mall name under Remington like this one does.

The other saws are mostly rough...

I'm not sure yet what I'll do with this buzz saw blade but something will come up.

A quick glance as Mike Acres site says the Remingtons (75, 660, and the Logmaster) are all 5 In3, could that be correct?

Mark, that is correct. 2 1/16 bore. There are some later 89cc saws, but I've only seen that in some 770s and all 754s. That was achieved by an increase in stroke. Of course, there are the larger 103cc saws with the 2 1/4" bore. Remington sure is confusing with all the different models that are apparently identical in construction.

Also, never heard of a Remington 600. You must mean 660.

Yes, 660, I corrected my post.

Remington variously used Carter and Tillotson carbs; Remington and FM starters; plain handles, without or without grips and some full wraps. I don't think it took much change for them to release a new model. On the other hand, I've seen Bantams released in 3 different forms. I can't figure it out.

My late S770, S770G, and S990 are the best looking of the bunch. They all have the separate rear handle with rubber grip and paddle oiler levers.

You ever seen a saw like this or know what it is? A very vague description on Facebook marketplace place as a "collector saw". Looks about the size of a Mini Mac with a pretty unusual color scheme that seems original. No other details and just this grainy picture :

It almost looks like it could be a small McCulloch with a different fuel / oil tank??

That is a Poulan "Bicentennial". I am interested in that saw.

I'd say the clutch cover and air filter cover are Mono, maybe an SL-145.
