A few days ago, backfilling.

Tiles will run toward the back and connect to the storm sewer.

I had them install non-perforated tile for my gutter to drain off, and a perforate tile to take any groundwater away from my neighbors building.

Street and sidewalk paving will have to wait until spring. The city is O.K. with that but the bar patrons are griping...

Nothing to report on the building, pouring the slab will have to wait until spring. I have been getting a few more saws cleaned up for the display.

John Deere version of the Echo twin. I may get to the Wright C50 next week?

Twin cylinder, horizontally opposed, firing simultaneously. If you haven't heard one run, they have a very cool sounding idle.

So you need to record a video of the launch of this boxer 😉

I have done some cutting with the Echo version that I have, they are very reliable (starting), very smooth, and have good torque, but they are a bit bulky/heavy for a 60cc saw.

I could say the same for any of the 600 Series McCulloch case, except for reliable starting and smooth...

I will be having an "open house" on 28/29 March here at the museum. Coffee & donuts in the morning and probably pizza sometime in the afternoon both days.

For those that need/want to run saws there will be a place about 4 mile away; I won't have any here at that time due to construction on the new building next door.

I don't have any space for campers here, but there is a county operated campground just on the south edge of town, I doubt the facilities will be up by then but there would be space available anyway.

I will be checking later to try and get an idea of how many to expect.

Finished up another one for the display today. This is the 5th Frontier I have and no two are alike.

This one is fully operational.

The "Solid-State Ignition" consists of a points type coil with a chip permanently connected.

Back in my lineman days, I carried a somewhat earlier Partner version of that saw on my line truck. It was a pretty tough little unit, but we asked a lot of it for a saw that size. It was eventually replaced with a Sachs Dolmar 112.

That brings memories! Same saw, without chainbrake, sold under the 'skil' name. Made by bombardier I believe? Amazingly robust. Felled and dismantled a lot of trees into firewood with that little "trimming" saw. Vibrated my frozen fingers to death and probably responsible for significant parts of my hearing loss. Manual oiler and dad was a stickler for its use. My right thumb could probably lift a kenworth after the exercise it got pressing that oiler! It was a 2511t before there was a 2511t, loved it!

We did some reorganize in the cold storage area on Saturday, had to make a little space to bring some clutter out of the shop. This side is mostly Homelite; from the far end the "bays" contain 1) XL12 and variants, 2) plastic Homelites, 200/240/245, a few C series, and a complete blue XL123, 3) XL and Super 2 models, 4) 330/340/360 models, 5) plastic Poulans and trimmers. There are also three Mall and parts of three McCulloch two man saws.

Other side is McCulloch of different stripes.

Come for the "open house" on 28/29 March and I'll let you go treasure hunting in the attic.
