What vintage saw would this bar go on? I'm not sure it's old enough to belong on my my 07S, 08S, or S10. How about the 041 Super, 045 Super, or 048? LINK

I've seen that before.

Brad that looks like a Duromatic bar from at least 1975; tip should be carbide.
I have a 20" bar that looks like that (though shorter) which came from my father's 031av.

Thing with my bar was - the groove was too wide for a .050" chain.

I took it in to the dealer and they were able to spot a spec number on the hilt and look it up.
They felt the chain was proper but that the groove was worn, not spread.

There should be a faint marking up toward the drive end; mine was very hard to see.
- - Heavy bar, no?

As in 75 and newer, or 75 and older?

The 041 Super came out in 1977. Same with the 045 Super. Matter of fact, Acres 045 Super has this style bar on it!:) LINK That's where it's going to go. It currently has a 20" hardnose bar on it that I repainted. This will be much more appropriate on it.

Thanks for the help guys.

The 07 and 08 take a large mount bar, prefix #3002.

I meant that you could probably hold it up to your 08 and eyeball it and tell if the slot was too narrow or wide.

For what its worth,I bought my Farm Boss in 1975,it came with a 20" hardnose.I bought a 16" hardnose at the same time. They were both painted white,no orange graphics, just black.

Brad;
That is the bar that came with my 041 AV when it was new, I have been told that it is a 1971 model. Does anyone know when the first 041 AV was produced. I think the early 041`s came out around 1967 or there abouts but did the AV model come out a lot later?

I've seen a couple 031 and 041 saws come across my bench with the same bar so any of your mid 70's saws would be appropriate.

I have a white one, like Roland's, fitted to my Contra, measures 30". I also have a little one with the same logo but stamped on to bare steel probably about 15-16" which seems to fit on an 026, but I don't have a chain for it so I'm not 100% sure it will work,

Here's the bar for my 08S. EricJeepers was kind enough to remove this from his Dad's 08 and give it to me. It was rusted pretty good. I soaked it for several hours in EvapoRust and finished with a light sanding. The pits are still there, but 99% of the rust is gone. It looks much more appropriate than the painted bar I had on it. Thanks Eric!

While I was at it, I finally installed the stud on the bottom corner of the muffler. It had been laying in the parts bin for a year or two!
