Got home early last night, so after cutting about a cord of locust, I took my daughter to her violin lesson. I'm sitting on the couch reading something when I hear the teacher start talking about technique:
"Use the entire length of the bow, not just the middle."
"Use a light touch and hold the end with just your fingertips."
"Keep your wrist up and your elbow extended so the bow doesn't finish at the wrong angle."

If I didn't know any better, I'd swear she was talking about freehand filing.
